Handwoven by Shipibo and Kukama artisans using Amazonian seeds, natural fibres, and plant-based dyes. Each piece holds the geometry of a living cosmology.
Elena learned to weave at six years old, sitting beside her grandmother in the early morning before the heat arrived. The patterns she works with — the Kené geometric designs of the Shipibo people — are not decorative. They are maps. Maps of the cosmos, of the body, of the plants and their medicine.
Each piece Elena and the Nativa Collective create takes between two and eight days, depending on its complexity. The seeds are collected from the forest by hand. The fibres are spun and dyed using plants from the same land that has sustained this community for generations. Nothing is imported. Nothing is synthetic.
When you wear a piece from the Nativa Collective, you are wearing something that has been held, considered, and made with a quality of attention that is almost impossible to find anywhere else in the world.
Shipibo Kené patterns are among the most sophisticated visual languages in the world. What looks, to an outside eye, like geometric abstraction, is in fact a precise and legible record of the relationships between plants, bodies, energy, and the cosmos as understood by the Shipibo people across thousands of years.
The jewelry carries these patterns in miniature — necklaces, bracelets, earrings, and rings woven from seeds, glass beads, and natural fibres using techniques that predate written history. Each piece is unique. No two are the same. The artisan makes choices about colour and pattern based on what feels right at the time of making — which means every piece is a one-off.
We work exclusively with the Nativa Collective in Pucallpa to ensure full traceability, fair pricing, and that the artisans receive a majority of every sale.
